Interactive Voting and Communication System

A prestigious organization in London’s West End has members drawn from the largest public companies to the smallest private firms. It is based throughout the UK with headquarters in Pall Mall in London.

In 2006, they decided to implement an audience canvassing and communication system. This system’s primary purpose was to ballot members who visit the London locations of 116 and 123 Pall Mall, with a view to extending the system UK wide.

The key requirement was to make casting a vote as easy and convenient as possible. The solution combines a wireless voting package with CoolSign and a bespoke web and console application.

Unobtrusive wireless handsets provide the feedback capability and allow for a variety of poll types from simple positive/negative response to multiple choices.

A series of high definition Planar and third party digital displays are located in key areas throughout the premises, including the wine bar, receptions and business centre. The CoolSign Players are located in server rooms in each building and their display output is transported across the buildings over the Cat5 infrastructure.

The system gives them total control of the audience voting. New votes can be quickly and simply broadcast to one or more sites, with the details of results being shown on their digital screen network in near real time.

Future phases will include the roll out of the system to other premises in their estate across the UK, the inclusion of real time triggers to acknowledge vote activity on screen together with the extension of the voting system to other channels including the web and email.
